Especially for Schools

Calliope Center staff hold a special place in their hearts for teachers. Prudence Tippins was a teacher trainer for many years in the state of Florida, and then for the seven western states with the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory.  We are ready to serve teachers with workshops and retreats especially designed for them. Other staff members are, or have been, exemplary professors in various fields.

Teachers often find Enneagram workshops quite helpful in their work with students, as they better understand motivations for various behaviors and the true nature of what students are seeking.  Elementary and English teachers appreciate Wild Boar Poetry and Writers' Retreats, as they're given countless ways to circumvent "rational" approaches to writing in favor of a right-brain focus that never fails to capture students' imaginations.

The Art of Authentic Listening, based on well-known educator Parker Palmer's work, is extremely useful to school staff and can be a jumping off point for deep work and the resulting closeness of the faculty.

If you have questions or would like more information about any of these workshops, please contact us.  We look forward to serving those who themselves offer such important service to our society.

Especially for Groups

The Calliope Center believes strongly that groups committed to supporting one another in their quest for wholeness can truly change the world. Weekend retreats and day-long workshops (held in Viroqua or in your community) can establish the base your group needs to know how to provide such active support.

Women's groups, men's groups, couples' groups, working groups, and even special-interest groups can utilize aspects of the Enneagram, The Art of Authentic Listening, and Embracing the Shadow to better understand one another and their roles in each other's lives. We explore the intersection of our personal roles and interests with our mutual responsibilities. Your group will come away with specific strategies to use for community growth and development.
