"I pin my hopes to quiet processes and small circles, in which vital and transforming events take place."          ~Rufus Jones

Wheel of Initiation

This is a year-long course that meets once each week (or in some cases, once every other week). In it, we set an intention for the year and consider all of our experiences as pertinent to this intention. The process of initiation is about freeing ourselves from habitual thoughts and actions that keep us from expressing our wholeness. The Wheel of Initiation was developed by Julie Tallard Johnson to encourage individuals to "think fully for yourself, live more authentically in the moment, and trust your own intuitive truth." The course is based on Julie's book,The Wheel of Initiation, though each group is, of course, unique.

Though we will undertake practices from various traditions, participants will each create a unique experience, based on his or her own spiritual beliefs and practices. The course inspires us to face and embrace all of who we are. Each member of the group is responsible for doing that for him- or herself, which in turn helps the rest of us do the same.

There is more than one Wheel of Initiation group running through the Calliope Center at this time.  One has already began in September, 2011 and is being facilitated by Prudence Tippins.  Another, offered every other week and facilitated by Diane Banner and Susan Paull, began in January, 2012.

Julie Tallard Johnson will begin a new Wheel of Initiation group in the Spring of 2012 at her office in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin.

$25 per weekly session; free-will offering for ceremonies

(Participants will also be able to schedule individual sessions for a reduced fee during the course of the year.)
